Maidens for Modesty

I linked to an older blog entry of Anna Naomi in my series on modest attire awhile back. Now she and her co-blogger Miriam have started a movement of their own. You can read about what a Maiden for Modesty believes here.

I'm glad to support them in this; though modesty doesn't have to entail waist-length hair and ankle-length skirts, those images provoke a sense of the beauty and femininity of times past that we would do well to remember.

Oh we take an interest in politics...

Can't you tell?

It's so embarrassing it is funny. Plus I don't live there.

No one voted. Not even the candidate.

Moro Rock

Reputed to be the most painted (as in captured on canvas and the like) rock in the world, the sheer size of the island is awesome to see (note the tiny red dot aka car driving along its base)!

My first thought? I want to climb...all the way to the top.

Hearst Castle

The Neptune pool--drained for repairs! The view remains completely breath-taking regardless.

Part of the castle--a small part.

You mean everyone doesn't have 12th c. B.C. Egyptian statues in their garden?

Solvang

This little dog was sitting outside a windmill and was just too cute. :)
Some of the architecture (bakeries were my favorite stop--the pastries were out of this world!) was reminescent of Old World Europe--beautiful!

Christina B. is fifteen. Her brother took the picture of her returning from strawberry picking and her sister Faith picking flowers.

Melissa M. writes that, "
To me, skirts speak femininity and grace. I wear skirts, dresses, and jumpers while doing almost everything. There's something fun and elegant about wearing skirts!"

Other girls prove dresses are beautiful

Can you really live and work in dresses? A group of young ladies maintain it is not only possible, but preferable.

Right: Airy skirts that fall just below the knee are cute and fun for dressing up in the summertime.

Chantel is a true Alaskan-born adventurer, and shows that a young woman can wear dresses year-round and while doing all kinds of activities.
